Drifting away

Drifting away by Faithless...Great music from a great artist. Listening to that actually gives you the feeling of drifting away...a sad feeling combined with remorse...Make choices and don't look back...we are human and we learn from our mistakes after all....Enjoy!

Take me to the hospital

Take me to the hospital by Prodigy! Awesome specimen of electronic music! One of my favourites bands. "The Prodigy Experience" was one of the first CD's I bought so it reminds me of my younger years. "Take me to the Hospital"! Enjoy!

Karma Police - Music Monday

Karma Police by Radiohead. You can find the lyrics here. This also kind of reminds of the situation my country is in..."I've given all I can, It's not enough, I've given all I can but we're still on the payroll".

Karma police, arrest this man
He talks in maths
He buzzes like a fridge
He's like a detuned radio

I guess I'm a bit like that... ;) Enjoy!

We don't need no education

"We don't need no education...we don't need no thought control" outstanding lyrics and very nice video! It raises questions about education...about what and how should children learn. A strict disciplined education within limits and standardized procedures will eventually create "another brick in the wall". And that is, in my opinion, the root of everything that is wrong with humanity as big as that sounds. Industrialized education that promotes no creative thinking, that gives actually no incentive to learn leads to non thinking people that absorb without judging everything served to them. "Hey teacher leave us kids alone" Enjoy!

It's in the water baby

"It's in the water baby...it's in the special way we...." ;)
A nice one also from Placebo. Post Blue. "I'd break the back of love you" I think this line has double meaning...break the back of love as in destroy love or as I'd give anything for you...I'm confused :P. Anyway...Enjoy!

I know...

Hey everybody sorry for not posting yesterday I'll try to make up now. After popoular demand :P...I know from Placebo! This one I love..."I love the song but not the singer" ;). My favourite line as I said in the paradise circus post "I know you want the sin without the sinner". Its typical human behaviour we are tempted by restricted things, we like doing them but we feel uneasy afterwards...See also the post from the final scene of devil's advocate it's all connected ;). Enjoy!

Woohoo!

Song 2 by Blur! I  love the rythm of that song! I think the lyrcs are a prank and don't make much sense :). They probably made it on purpose like that to make fun of hit songs :P. To all the woohoo people! Enjoy!

Devil's Advocate final scene

Here is also the video I mentioned in the previous post ;). Enjoy!

Paradise Circus

Paradise Circus by Massive Attack! A great and beloved song from the album Heligoland. It's really amazing...the music...the lyrics...the original video is for adults only. Those over 18 search it on massive attack's blog ;). I love the line:

"oh well (where?) the devil makes us sin....but we like it when we're spinning in his grip"

It's unfortunately true...and as "I Know" from Placebo says..."I know you love the sin but not the sinner" ;). This one also reminds me of a scene from the movie "The Devil's Advocate" where the devil is trying to convinve his son that the God is actually playing a joke on people giving them pleasures but not letting them have them. Well if you ask me...I think the answer to that is what if we succumbed to all our instincts? Then we would diminish ourselvels to beasts...

After all..."we are our own devils". Enjoy!

Smack my bitch up!

Smack my bitch up by Prodigy! The official video is censored in youtube so I post this one... Ahhh what can I say about that...it's the very first CD I bought and one of my favourites from prodigy! Turn the volume at full at 0:50 ;)! Enjoy!

If destiny's kind I've got the rest on my mind

For reasons unknown by the killers! That's a good one though the video kind of sucks :P. I could'nt find any connection with the meaning of the song and I hate this damn PR things :). They produce a catchy video but totally irrelevant to the song :P. Anyway maybe I lost the connection :P.

A bit about the song....I love the line "I know If destiny's kind I've got the rest on my mind"...I wish I was that sure about my course in life ;). As I get older I get that feeling also...I wish everything goes fine and I'm sure I'm gonna make it the way I want. I hope it's not because I'm compromising though and I have lesser expectations. Anyway the song is also about a couple that loses that "first time" feeling that everything seems great in the beggining of a relationship but as time goes by "for reasons unknown" it fades. Maybe it's just the way it is and you have other things to hold on to then. Enjoy!

Just another Nancy Boy

"Alcoholic kind of mood
lose my clothes, lose my lube
cruising for a piece of fun
looking out for number one"

In a good mood to go out tonight and that came to my mind ;). All this shinny places though just makes you forget what "fun" means!

"just another nancy boy.
Woman man or modern monkey
just another happy junkie"

I can't help but bring to mind all this stupid tv shows with copy-paste "nancy boys"  that make "rules" for places and ways to have fun. Ah it drives me mad! The power of suggestion is great as it seems... Anyway...Enjoy!

You sure you wanna be with me I've nothing to give

Karmacoma by Massive attack or Tricky :). I think there was a dispute between Massive Attack and Tricky as to whose the song really was...so there is also a version in Tricky's own album Maxinquaye and the song is called overcome. The song is performed by his then girlfriend Martina Topley Bird. She has an amzing voice! The video follows also:

Well a bit about the lyrics. The way I see it talks about a "couple" in a "no strings attached" relationship where two people are together but not in an exclusive relationship  "Don't want to be on top of your list Monopoly and properly kissed". Its mainly physical "Walking through the suburbs though not exactly lovers  You’re a couple, 'specially when your body’s doubled". I could go on line by line you can check out the lyrics on your own...but I have to wonder...to what extent can this be possible? "emmotional tights they stay severed" but we are human after all ;)...

"When there’s trust there’ll be treats
And when we funk we'll hear beats"

Enjoy!

I need a dollar!

The title says everything :P. In a light and slightly ironic mood... dedicated to my country Greece and all the others that follow ;). I need a dollar, a dollar is what I need. Enjoy!

No colors anymore I want them to turn black

Con Artist Trickster (a reader of the blog) reminded me of this great song. Paint it black by the Rolling Stones. You can find the lyrics on the youtube video. Dark lyrics...I love this verse:

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

Especially the last line...it really is easy to hide in darkness and shut to yourself when "the whole world is black". We think we can make it better by doing so...and the truth is it sometimes is comforting...at least for a while. Enjoy!

PS: Thanks again Con Artist Trickster! Check out his blog also! http://conartrick.blogspot.com/

Pleased to meet you...hope you guess my name...

A live version of Sympathy for the Devil by Rolling Stones! You can find the lyrics here. I love this song...I guess the devil is in each one of us ;). "Please to meet you hope you guess my name...but what's puzzling you is the nature of my game". Enjoy!

Uprising again with a funny video ;)

A funny version of the previous song! Muse actually played a joke on the italian hostess switching places and obviously she didn't know them :). They did it because they made them perform playback not live :D. Anyway its really fine! Check out the "drummers" performance on 3.14 hahahha! Enjoy!

They will not force us!

Nice song and video by Muse...Uprising! Sorry again for no posting. I had a bussiness trip and worked like crazy for a couple of days! It went well though :P. This one is kind of revolutionary song but its also a bit cliche. I like it a lot though! I dedicate it to the greek people. Wake up and start fighting for our rights! I post the lyrics...they fit so well.

Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR, transmissions will resume
They'll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down
And hope that, we will never see the truth around
(So come on)

Another promise, another seed
Another, packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed
And all the, green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless, red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Interchanging mind control
Come let the, revolution takes its toll
If you could, flick the switch and open your third eye
You'd see that, we should never be afraid to die
(So come on)

Rise up and take the power back
It's time the, fat cats had a heart attack
They know that, their time's coming to an end
We have to, unify and watch our flag ascend
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

A last comment..."They'll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down" I can't help but bring in mind what happened to Argentina with the drug cities...after their "economic crisis"."It's time the fat cats had a heart attack" ;). Enjoy!

People are strange when you're a stranger

A beloved song from the doors. You can find the lyrics on the youtube description also ;). Couldn't be more true:

People are strange when you're a stranger,
Faces look ugly when you're alone.
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted,
Streets are uneven when you're down.

When we're feeling bad or uneasy everything looks strange. We tend to blame others for what's wrong with us! And on the contrary everything seems nice when we feel good! Well the human soul is an abyss :P.  Enjoy!

Oh yoi yoi yoi accelerate the protons!

Brilliant! Don't miss the lyrics! Strong anti christian (church) spirit in a funny way though... Actually it makes fun of atheist scientists! In the eve of my "great" experiment :P I remembered that and laughed.

First time I had read the Bible
It had stroke me as unwitty
I think it may started rumor
That the Lord ain't got no humor

Its funny but makes you think also...these "must not" rules in the bible "they may start a rumour" ;). "Stir it twice and then just add me"! Boom! Enjoy! And don't forget to drop a click if you like ;)

Please could you stay a while to share my grief...

Another one for tonight ;). Wandering star by Portishead. I love the music they make...a bit dark but I like it. it also has the lyrics on the description. Check them out. I love the first verse:
Please could you stay awhile to share my grief
For its such a lovely day
To have to always feel this way
And the time that I will suffer less
Is when I never have to wake

Its very pessimistic actually depressing but its so true sometimes...I can't say I'm feeling depressed for no reason but many times something bad (can be significant or not) happens and you have this strange feeling for the rest of the day. Enjoy!

But I feel I'm growing older...

First of all sorry for not posting a song yesterday. I had a party and there was no time left :). When I woke up I was too messed up :P and I had to clean up the mess also. So here it goes....Soldier of Fortune by Deep Purple. I used to listen to this one again and again on repeat.

"Many times I've been a travveller, I looked for something new" I haven't done that literally in my life but I did in my mind lots of times...wander around in my thoughts try to decide what's best for me... But really although I'm far from old I feel I'm growing older...all this pressure and running around is tiring me...I keep telling myself we only have one lifetime...make the best out of it...it's better to regret for things you have done not for ones you haven't. Enjoy!

It never stops and we'll never learn...

Just listen...no comments....It never stops and we'll never learn....I'll post another one in a while because this one is a repetition...;P Repetition is the mother of knowledge ;)

Radiohead vs Morcheeba ft Manda Zamolo vs Digitalism - Spirit World (mashup)

Great remix! Its actually three different songs (and a different version of one of them):

Radiohead: "Street Spirit (Fade Out)"
Morcheeba ft Manda Zamolo: "Gained the World"
Digitalism: "Taken Away"
Eliza Lumley: "Street Spirit (Fade Out)"

I love the lyrics from Gained the World. My favourite line is "I gained the world and lost my soul...maybe it's cause I'm getting old". We are greedy we always want more and not only material belongings. We want to collect as many experiences as we can and we don't want to lose the chance. There are lots of  "seize the day" sayings but by doing so we can actually do things that aren't us that makes us lose our souls. As we grow old thats more intense...we want to make money, try new things, we become more and more selfish...we become more greedy and adopt behaviours that we once hated...Thats for tonight. Enjoy it ;).
