Addictive

A brilliant song from faithless. It's the soundtrack of the movie cruel intentions...I didn't like the movie much though. The lyrics follow:

Change around the words that you say,
To suit me fine.

Predictable behavior,
I crave ya.
I'm driven.
You're my only living saviour.
Sometimes I hate ya,
But I'm whipped.
Being deadhead down to the crypt.
Retricted like a conscript,
You love to bully.
I place the blame with you,
Fully.

Change around the words that you say,
To suit me fine.
Make them mine.

Don't panic.
There's only we two left on the planet.
I can explain.
I know it happened again,
It's manic.
I'm standing in the flame
Trying to fan it.
You don't know what you've got till it's gone.
And by the edge of the night
Where nobody belongs, through this junk,
And that's where you come.

Change around the words that you say,
To suit me fine.
Make them mine.
Listen to the voice in your head,
It makes no sense.
Take a rest... (echo)

I'm addicted.

I have a demon for a wife.
He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life.
Takes notes on how to provoke past grief.
Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self-belief.
Feed all day from underneath
Like a thief.
I'm left weak
Barely able to speak.
I seek nothing but constant supply.
I can read every look in your eyes.
I live with a lie.
Baby, our love will never die
Or, maybe it's the last time I make you cry.
Make my appeal like the condemned.
Let's go away for the weekend.
Your life I will steal and descend with it into the pit.

I'm addicted..

Change around the words that you say,
To suit me fine.

I'm addicted..

Listen to the voice in your head,
It makes no sense.
Take a rest... (echo)

I'm addicted.. (5x) (4th time from Chorus)
I have a little problem.
I have a demon for a wife.
He delights in your pretty face and he hates my life.
Takes notes on how to provoke past grief.
Makes my teeth decay with the last of my self-belief.

Change around the words that you say,
To suit me fine.
Make them mine.

I'm addicted.. (7x, also at background of next part)

Listen to the voice in your head,
It makes no sense.
Take a rest... (echo)

My favourite part is  this:
"Change around the words that you say,
To suit me fine.
Make them mine.
Listen to the voice in your head,
It makes no sense.
Take a rest..."

Sometimes people find themselves stuck in relationships where love and hate is interchangeable...The lyrics are so powerfull it gives me the goozebumps every time I hear it. It's really sad when you get in fights and try to talk things over and you get stuck in an infinite loop changing the meaning of each other's words again and again till you close to yourself and start realizing that nobody in the world can understand you...To take it a bit further beyond relationships this line could also refer to propaganda. Change around the words that you say to suit me fine....make then mine....till your minds get tired and fall asleep and take whatever is served to you. Brilliant song thumbs up...I hope I'll listen to it live sometime. Enjoy!

Sane

Sane by Archive! It's been a while since I posted....and I'm really sorry...It's been a hell of a couple weeks though in a bad way mainly...too much pressure from work, too many emotions, too many things to do for others....too much bad luck. I'm like a ghost...I feel like I'm living the life of another person. It's been an insane period the last few weeks but "step by step I'm gonna make myself feel sane again". Hope you enjoy that!

Laid

Laid by James! Makes you wanna smile and dance right??? ;) What a great dysfunctional relationship it talks about :P. Lyrics follow:

This bed is on fire
With passionate love
The neighbours complain about the noises above
But she only comes when she’s on top

My therapist said not to see you no more
She said you’re like a disease without any cure
She said I’m so obsessed that I’m becoming a bore, oh no
Ah, you think you’re so pretty

Caught your hand inside the till
Slammed your fingers in the door
Fought with kitchen knives and skewers
Dressed me up in womens clothes
Messed around with gender roles
Dye my eyes and call me pretty

Moved out of the house, so you moved next door
I locked you out, you cut a hole in the wall
I found you sleeping next to me, I thought I was alone
You’re driving me crazy, when are you coming home

James will be performing live around I hope I won't miss it :)! " The neighbours complain about the noises above" ;)! Enjoy!

Smash

Smash by The Offspring! Also from the same album as the previous post "Self Esteem". A revolutionary song I used to hear when I was younger. You can find the lyrics here. Its a longer version just like the one that came out at the original disc it has a bonus in the last minutes...an instrumental version of "Come Out and Play". Sometimes I feel like I wanna scream that: "I just want to be who I want to be  Guess that's hard for others to see"! Simple lines but soooo true...I really like the verse:

I'm not a trendy asshole
I Do what I want
I Do what I feel like
I'm not a trendy asshole
Don't give a fuck
If it's good enough for you

Cause I am alive

Big words of course...I wish I could do whatever I wanted but either we like it or not we do conform to some of societies rules. I really get that feeling though when I'm in a "trendy place" where you see different copies of persons and behaviours. It used to annoy me in the past...now it makes me laugh how some people's minds can be so narrow. Too much poison for tonight :P. "SMASH"!! Enjoy!

Why does my heart feel so bad

Why does my heart feel so bad by Moby. No words for that...just amazing...I love the sound of this song...lyrics simple and to the point ;)...for the times you just feel sad without any specific reason. I guess it's just the accumulation of pressure and mistakes from your everyday life triggered by a small insignificant event...Enjoy!

Natural Blues

Natural Blues by Moby...The lyrics follow:

oh lordy, trouble so hard
oh lordy, trouble so hard,
don't nobody know my troubles but God
don't nobody know my troubles but God

went down the hill, the other day
my soul got happy and stayed all day

oh lordy...

went in the room, didn't stay long,
looked on the bed and brother was dead

oh lordy...

"don't nobody know my troubles but God"...
whenever I got the blues I feel like listening to that...Enjoy!

Self Esteem

Self Esteem from the Offspring from the album Smash! To all those out there with low self esteem :P! Don't be afraid to do what you want! You can find the lyrics at the youtube video. The song is about a guy thats run over by a girl...of course it works the other way also ;). But what do I know? "I'm just a sucker with no self esteem". It's true though that "the more you suffer the more it shows you really care" ;). Enjoy!

All these things that I've done

All these things that I've done by The Killers! I got stuck with this band after seeing them in a live concert while raining! Very nice memory...About the song, you can find the lyrics here. Ilove the last verse:

Over and out, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done
All these things that I've done

The battle is lost with all these things that I've done...brilliant line...Sometimes we sacrifice too much to win something...it makes you wonder is it worth it? Does the end justifies the means? I think I'm like that..."I got soul but I'm not a slodier". Sorry for not posting and Happy Music Monday also! Enjoy!

Can't Stop

Can't Stop by Red Hot Chili Peppers! A really good one from that band! You can find the lyrics here...you should read them line by line I really like them...it looks like it jumps from one point to the other kind of like Song2 from Blur! I love the line "Can't stop the gods from engineering Feel no need for any interfering" ;). I also like the refrain:

The world I love
The tears I drop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love
The trains I hop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Come on tell me when it's time to

...and then the line "I wonder what the wave meant"! Brilliant we struggle we strive we fight for a cause and many times we don't even know what it's all about! "Choose not a life of immitation"! Enjoy!

Enjoy the Ride

Enjoy the ride by Morcheeba. You can find the lyrics here. I liked the animated video a lot! The song is about what it says in the title...enjoy your life! I love the line "The day that you stop running Is the day that you arrive". It couldn't be more true...At some point of our lives we have to realise who we are and how we want to live and stop running to reach for something. Enjoy!

Stop chasing shadows
Just enjoy the ride

;)

2Wicky

2Wicky by Hooverphonic! I love the sound of this song...a very good specimen of trip hop music with slow beat and electronic variations. Not much to say about the lyrics just that Liesje Sadonius has a magnificent voice and good looks as you can see from the video ;). Enjoy!

Fake Plastic Trees

Got stuck with Radiohead now...Fake Plastic Trees...You can find the lyrics here. It really "wears me out" when I try to be a "plastic man". Society is defining borders (sometimes too strict) for what behaviour is good/acceptable and for who is good looking or not. It is in our nature to want to be accepted, popular, desirable but we shouldn't forget who we are in the end. I love the lines:

He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins

For girls in the eighties...so sad sometimes...I am not judging anyone  (I really don't know how I'm gonna react when and if I reach my eighties) but I believe that the best thing to do is accept that it's absolutely normal and natural to grow old. Enjoy...

Street Spirit

Street Spirit by Radiohead! I posted a mashup of this song along with morcheeba a while ago. The lyrics of this song are also very good:

This machine will, will not communicate
These thoughts and the strain I am under

This lines fits very well this blog ;) (and I suppose to many other sites and blogs as well). So everybody enjoy this "Before we all go under...And fade out again and fade out again"...

Drifting away

Drifting away by Faithless...Great music from a great artist. Listening to that actually gives you the feeling of drifting away...a sad feeling combined with remorse...Make choices and don't look back...we are human and we learn from our mistakes after all....Enjoy!

Invaders must die

Continuing from yesterday...Invaders must Die by the Prodigy! Another incredible song from their latest album...not much to say about the lyrics...invaders must die :P. Music?... country?...personal life? invaders? ;) Enjoy!

Take me to the hospital

Take me to the hospital by Prodigy! Awesome specimen of electronic music! One of my favourites bands. "The Prodigy Experience" was one of the first CD's I bought so it reminds me of my younger years. "Take me to the Hospital"! Enjoy!

Nobody loves me

Nobody Loves me....it's true...not like you do...no more comments :). Sour Times by Portishead. Enjoy!

Karma Police - Music Monday

Karma Police by Radiohead. You can find the lyrics here. This also kind of reminds of the situation my country is in..."I've given all I can, It's not enough, I've given all I can but we're still on the payroll".

Karma police, arrest this man
He talks in maths
He buzzes like a fridge
He's like a detuned radio

I guess I'm a bit like that... ;) Enjoy!

Fragments of Life

Fragments of Life by Roy Vedas. I like this tune it has a nice electronic vibe ;). I always remember the previous years of my life when I listen to this song. Enjoy!

We don't need no education

"We don't need no education...we don't need no thought control" outstanding lyrics and very nice video! It raises questions about education...about what and how should children learn. A strict disciplined education within limits and standardized procedures will eventually create "another brick in the wall". And that is, in my opinion, the root of everything that is wrong with humanity as big as that sounds. Industrialized education that promotes no creative thinking, that gives actually no incentive to learn leads to non thinking people that absorb without judging everything served to them. "Hey teacher leave us kids alone" Enjoy!

It's in the water baby

"It's in the water baby...it's in the special way we...." ;)
A nice one also from Placebo. Post Blue. "I'd break the back of love you" I think this line has double meaning...break the back of love as in destroy love or as I'd give anything for you...I'm confused :P. Anyway...Enjoy!

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

I know...

Hey everybody sorry for not posting yesterday I'll try to make up now. After popoular demand :P...I know from Placebo! This one I love..."I love the song but not the singer" ;). My favourite line as I said in the paradise circus post "I know you want the sin without the sinner". Its typical human behaviour we are tempted by restricted things, we like doing them but we feel uneasy afterwards...See also the post from the final scene of devil's advocate it's all connected ;). Enjoy!

Monday, April 18, 2011

Woohoo!

Song 2 by Blur! I  love the rythm of that song! I think the lyrcs are a prank and don't make much sense :). They probably made it on purpose like that to make fun of hit songs :P. To all the woohoo people! Enjoy!

Devil's Advocate final scene

Here is also the video I mentioned in the previous post ;). Enjoy!

Paradise Circus

Paradise Circus by Massive Attack! A great and beloved song from the album Heligoland. It's really amazing...the music...the lyrics...the original video is for adults only. Those over 18 search it on massive attack's blog ;). I love the line:

"oh well (where?) the devil makes us sin....but we like it when we're spinning in his grip"

It's unfortunately true...and as "I Know" from Placebo says..."I know you love the sin but not the sinner" ;). This one also reminds me of a scene from the movie "The Devil's Advocate" where the devil is trying to convinve his son that the God is actually playing a joke on people giving them pleasures but not letting them have them. Well if you ask me...I think the answer to that is what if we succumbed to all our instincts? Then we would diminish ourselvels to beasts...

After all..."we are our own devils". Enjoy!

Smack my bitch up!

Smack my bitch up by Prodigy! The official video is censored in youtube so I post this one... Ahhh what can I say about that...it's the very first CD I bought and one of my favourites from prodigy! Turn the volume at full at 0:50 ;)! Enjoy!

If destiny's kind I've got the rest on my mind

For reasons unknown by the killers! That's a good one though the video kind of sucks :P. I could'nt find any connection with the meaning of the song and I hate this damn PR things :). They produce a catchy video but totally irrelevant to the song :P. Anyway maybe I lost the connection :P.

A bit about the song....I love the line "I know If destiny's kind I've got the rest on my mind"...I wish I was that sure about my course in life ;). As I get older I get that feeling also...I wish everything goes fine and I'm sure I'm gonna make it the way I want. I hope it's not because I'm compromising though and I have lesser expectations. Anyway the song is also about a couple that loses that "first time" feeling that everything seems great in the beggining of a relationship but as time goes by "for reasons unknown" it fades. Maybe it's just the way it is and you have other things to hold on to then. Enjoy!

Just another Nancy Boy

"Alcoholic kind of mood
lose my clothes, lose my lube
cruising for a piece of fun
looking out for number one"

In a good mood to go out tonight and that came to my mind ;). All this shinny places though just makes you forget what "fun" means!

"just another nancy boy.
Woman man or modern monkey
just another happy junkie"

I can't help but bring to mind all this stupid tv shows with copy-paste "nancy boys"  that make "rules" for places and ways to have fun. Ah it drives me mad! The power of suggestion is great as it seems... Anyway...Enjoy!

You sure you wanna be with me I've nothing to give

Karmacoma by Massive attack or Tricky :). I think there was a dispute between Massive Attack and Tricky as to whose the song really was...so there is also a version in Tricky's own album Maxinquaye and the song is called overcome. The song is performed by his then girlfriend Martina Topley Bird. She has an amzing voice! The video follows also:

Well a bit about the lyrics. The way I see it talks about a "couple" in a "no strings attached" relationship where two people are together but not in an exclusive relationship  "Don't want to be on top of your list Monopoly and properly kissed". Its mainly physical "Walking through the suburbs though not exactly lovers  You’re a couple, 'specially when your body’s doubled". I could go on line by line you can check out the lyrics on your own...but I have to wonder...to what extent can this be possible? "emmotional tights they stay severed" but we are human after all ;)...

"When there’s trust there’ll be treats
And when we funk we'll hear beats"

Enjoy!

I need a dollar!

The title says everything :P. In a light and slightly ironic mood... dedicated to my country Greece and all the others that follow ;). I need a dollar, a dollar is what I need. Enjoy!

No colors anymore I want them to turn black

Con Artist Trickster (a reader of the blog) reminded me of this great song. Paint it black by the Rolling Stones. You can find the lyrics on the youtube video. Dark lyrics...I love this verse:

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

Especially the last line...it really is easy to hide in darkness and shut to yourself when "the whole world is black". We think we can make it better by doing so...and the truth is it sometimes is comforting...at least for a while. Enjoy!

PS: Thanks again Con Artist Trickster! Check out his blog also! http://conartrick.blogspot.com/

Pleased to meet you...hope you guess my name...

A live version of Sympathy for the Devil by Rolling Stones! You can find the lyrics here. I love this song...I guess the devil is in each one of us ;). "Please to meet you hope you guess my name...but what's puzzling you is the nature of my game". Enjoy!

Uprising again with a funny video ;)

A funny version of the previous song! Muse actually played a joke on the italian hostess switching places and obviously she didn't know them :). They did it because they made them perform playback not live :D. Anyway its really fine! Check out the "drummers" performance on 3.14 hahahha! Enjoy!

They will not force us!

Nice song and video by Muse...Uprising! Sorry again for no posting. I had a bussiness trip and worked like crazy for a couple of days! It went well though :P. This one is kind of revolutionary song but its also a bit cliche. I like it a lot though! I dedicate it to the greek people. Wake up and start fighting for our rights! I post the lyrics...they fit so well.

Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR, transmissions will resume
They'll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down
And hope that, we will never see the truth around
(So come on)

Another promise, another seed
Another, packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed
And all the, green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless, red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Interchanging mind control
Come let the, revolution takes its toll
If you could, flick the switch and open your third eye
You'd see that, we should never be afraid to die
(So come on)

Rise up and take the power back
It's time the, fat cats had a heart attack
They know that, their time's coming to an end
We have to, unify and watch our flag ascend
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

A last comment..."They'll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down" I can't help but bring in mind what happened to Argentina with the drug cities...after their "economic crisis"."It's time the fat cats had a heart attack" ;). Enjoy!

People are strange when you're a stranger

A beloved song from the doors. You can find the lyrics on the youtube description also ;). Couldn't be more true:

People are strange when you're a stranger,
Faces look ugly when you're alone.
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted,
Streets are uneven when you're down.

When we're feeling bad or uneasy everything looks strange. We tend to blame others for what's wrong with us! And on the contrary everything seems nice when we feel good! Well the human soul is an abyss :P.  Enjoy!

Monday, April 4, 2011

Oh yoi yoi yoi accelerate the protons!

Brilliant! Don't miss the lyrics! Strong anti christian (church) spirit in a funny way though... Actually it makes fun of atheist scientists! In the eve of my "great" experiment :P I remembered that and laughed.

First time I had read the Bible
It had stroke me as unwitty
I think it may started rumor
That the Lord ain't got no humor

Its funny but makes you think also...these "must not" rules in the bible "they may start a rumour" ;). "Stir it twice and then just add me"! Boom! Enjoy! And don't forget to drop a click if you like ;)

Please could you stay a while to share my grief...

Another one for tonight ;). Wandering star by Portishead. I love the music they make...a bit dark but I like it. it also has the lyrics on the description. Check them out. I love the first verse:
Please could you stay awhile to share my grief
For its such a lovely day
To have to always feel this way
And the time that I will suffer less
Is when I never have to wake

Its very pessimistic actually depressing but its so true sometimes...I can't say I'm feeling depressed for no reason but many times something bad (can be significant or not) happens and you have this strange feeling for the rest of the day. Enjoy!

But I feel I'm growing older...

First of all sorry for not posting a song yesterday. I had a party and there was no time left :). When I woke up I was too messed up :P and I had to clean up the mess also. So here it goes....Soldier of Fortune by Deep Purple. I used to listen to this one again and again on repeat.

"Many times I've been a travveller, I looked for something new" I haven't done that literally in my life but I did in my mind lots of times...wander around in my thoughts try to decide what's best for me... But really although I'm far from old I feel I'm growing older...all this pressure and running around is tiring me...I keep telling myself we only have one lifetime...make the best out of it...it's better to regret for things you have done not for ones you haven't. Enjoy!

It never stops and we'll never learn...

Just listen...no comments....It never stops and we'll never learn....I'll post another one in a while because this one is a repetition...;P Repetition is the mother of knowledge ;)

Radiohead vs Morcheeba ft Manda Zamolo vs Digitalism - Spirit World (mashup)

Great remix! Its actually three different songs (and a different version of one of them):

Radiohead: "Street Spirit (Fade Out)"
Morcheeba ft Manda Zamolo: "Gained the World"
Digitalism: "Taken Away"
Eliza Lumley: "Street Spirit (Fade Out)"

I love the lyrics from Gained the World. My favourite line is "I gained the world and lost my soul...maybe it's cause I'm getting old". We are greedy we always want more and not only material belongings. We want to collect as many experiences as we can and we don't want to lose the chance. There are lots of  "seize the day" sayings but by doing so we can actually do things that aren't us that makes us lose our souls. As we grow old thats more intense...we want to make money, try new things, we become more and more selfish...we become more greedy and adopt behaviours that we once hated...Thats for tonight. Enjoy it ;).

AccuRadio Blog: How much does sound quality REALLY matter?

AccuRadio Blog: How much does sound quality REALLY matter?: "Today is something called Dynamic Range Day 2011 (and you didn't even get the day off work, right?) Seriously, it is. There's a Facebook p..."

An online radio I like...

You should try AccuRadio! It has many different channels... I love the Chill (DownTempo beats) channel. I am actually listening to that right now it's good when you are working ;).

Lines lines data and lines....

Archive again for tonight... This one kind of reminds me of  the status my country is right now..."Lines, lines data and lines, confusing nations all data inside, games shame lies to the masses, dead souls all rise on poisonous gasses, lines, lines la la la la la la, lines." Economical crisis they call it... I say good opportunity for profit ;) invasive, foreign... too bad for our sunlight. Enjoy... "Runaway, loose, gonna run over you, infected, injected, completely subdued, invasive, foreign entity, unwelcome. High, sunlight, drown, high, sunlight, goodbye."

Controlling crowds

No need for introduction...Controlling crowds by Archive.

Probably my favourite band. I watched them live a couple of times in Greece and they are awesome! Their last concert they rocked! Played two hours straight new and old songs...everybody had a great time!

Now about the song...you can find the lyrics at the official archive website (also check it out...its really good). Deep meaning as always in archive songs... Our individuality is getting lost inside the massive behaviours. Human kind is strange...we tend to categorize everything and seperate in good/bad wrong/right. I love the line: "stay on your knees with your cross and don’t tell me you know so, the world is my playground too and I refuse to follow." Religion is the most palpapbe example of controlling crowds...everyone believes he is right even making wars in the name of gods! And that's not the only example of course...politics also! Extremists from either side left or right do the same. That's getting too far though... enjoy the song... and remember the world is your playground too and you can do what you like...I think I wanted to say some more things about that song...maybe another time...

Cool new widget radio!

Hey I found a cool new widget radio from radiotuna! You can find it and embed it for free in your websites! Try it out!

It never stops and we'll never learn....

Splitting the atom...by massive attack...simply magnificent...you can find the lyrics here:

This song reminds me about mistakes we make again and again... it never stops and we'll never learn...
We keep telling lies...not admitting the obvious truth...(this disguise covers bitter lies...repeating the joke the meaning it dies...). Of course it's not an actual interpertion of the song its just what it brings to my mind...

I realize that what makes us sad most of the time is the sum of uncomfortable events starting from our jobs and advancing in more personal situations...we try to find comfort in drinking or other substances but still "the pleasure it fails at the end of the week". I dont know why we keep doing this...it's easy don't let it go...

The First Song of the Day

Just to introduce myself in the very first post...I'm a creep by Radiohead...

This is for the times in your life that you realize your mistakes...Our actions can have an effect on the lives of others and as much as you dont want to you can hurt someone. At least realizing that we are creeps sometimes makes us better... I wish I was special...
